Last February a survey was conducted among EduOpen users, more than 6% of the students of the platform responded. From the initial analysis, in EduOpen we found that female users are more numerous than men (62%). This result confirms the national and European statistics that see the women most involved in the training courses both as teachers and students: 50% of EduOpen female learners are school teachers and the 66 % of persons that declare to be involved in a high-level training course are women.
Moving attention to the issue of age, we discover that EduOpen users are mainly adults: 35% is in the age group between 45 and 54 years. Instead in the Italian and European adult education 40% of students are in the range between 24 and 34 years.
Moreover, international surveys report that online and open courses are attended by a population with a high educational qualification. The same happens on our platform where 61% declare to complete a course of higher education.

The regions that EduOpen learners mainly come from are Emilia Romagna (15%), Lombardia (14%), Veneto (11%), Puglia (9%), Lazio (8%) and Liguria (6%). However, if we compare these data with the number of inhabitants per region and the number of students per region, it is surprising to see how the participation in our network has spread in Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Veneto and Puglia.
