About the Course
Welcome to “SusTourTraining MOOC”.
This MOOC, developed under the “SustTourTraining. Strengthening the Tourism value chain in small fascinating Mediterranean Towns” through adult education focusing on sustainability” project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is designed to provide adult learners and tourism professionals with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to promote sustainability across the tourism value chain. Structured around key thematic modules, it explores the intersection of economic development, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship within the tourism sector. The course is offered both online and in face-to-face modalities through adult education centres in participating countries.
Participants will engage with practical activities, real-world case studies, and expert-led content focusing on areas such as sustainable business models, stakeholder engagement, environmentally friendly digital promotion, heritage conservation, and responsible communication.

This course is designed for adult learners, tourism professionals, and staff working in or with adult education centres, particularly those involved in tourism and hospitality. No prior background in sustainability is required, although a basic understanding of the tourism sector will be helpful.
The course requires:

● A willingness to engage critically with real-world case studies and practical activities.
● Internet access for the online version or access to a participating adult education centre for the in-person modality.
