Around 22.2 million people work regularly in agriculture, but the farming sector needs to attract a new generation of farmers with the necessary skills to live and work in a challenging context. They will have to produce more efficiently while protecting the environment; contribute to the fight against climate change; meet society's demands regarding healthy and balanced diets; and keep up with increasingly rapid scientific and technological progress. It is therefore essential that future farmers benefit from adequate agricultural education and training and acquire the various skills needed to adapt to a changing environment. Pre-requisiti
To understand the level of knowledge, learners can take a self-assessment quiz in the courses. -
Pathway Structure
The Pathways include two main course: “Climate Smart Agriculture for Beginners” and “Climate Smart Agriculture – Advanced”. It is recommended that users start from the first course and then proceed with the second one.Climate Smart Agriculture for Beginners will provide key information about what Climate Smart Agriculture is and will present basic understanding of useful practices and techniques that can improve land management in view of biodiversity principles and climate change adaptation needs.
Climate Smart Agriculture – Advanced will provide a deeper insight about the application of Climate Smart Agriculture and will present advanced understanding of useful practices and techniques that can improve land management in view of biodiversity principles and climate change adaptation needs.
